Investigate A Fatal Crash On Highway 107

"Starting this week, the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment Traffic Unit will be increasing enforcement along Highway 107 as part of a targeted traffic safety initiative. Expect to see an increased police presence in the area."
A reminder to drive safely, follow posted speed limits, stay alert and avoid distractions.

OCTOBER 17, USPA 24 NEWS REPORT. At 7:10 a.m. on October 17, emergency services, including RCMP, EHS, and fire services, responded to a reported collision on Highway 107.
An RCMP collision reconstructionist, along with the Medical Examiner Service, attended the crash site. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers learned an eastbound Mazda 3 and an eastbound Hyundai Kona collided before the Mazda 3 then collided head-on with a westbound Mazda 3. The driver of the eastbound Mazda 3, a 31-year-old woman from Gaetz Brook, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A child passenger was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the westbound Mazda 3, a 48-year-old man from Porters Lake, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger of this vehicle, a 19-year-old man from Porters Lake, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai Kona, a 26-year-old woman from Halifax, was not physically injured.

An RCMP spokesperson said, "The highway was closed for several hours, but has since reopened. Our thoughts are with the victims’ loved ones at this difficult time."
